Campfire Mishap
It was a regular night, and our camp had gathered enough gold to afford a campfire with sausages and, of course, a “beverage”. By the time that we went to bed, our stomachs were full and we were tripping over each other just to get to the tent!
After mumbling in an attempt to bid each other a good night, we drifted off into a deep, deep sleep, so it was long before anyone smelled the smoke.
When Donovan woke up, the first thing he said was, “Why is it so hot in here? Did you stamp out the fire, Troy?”
"I don’t remember, but by the look of it, I didn’t.” He was right. I watched, dismayed, as the beastly flames swallowed up our supplies.“Shouldn't we be panicking right now?” Troy said.
“Run!” Alison screamed.
And so we did. We watched as our campsite burned down, emptying our pockets of our gold, knowing we would have to spend it on new supplies “No more campfires for us,” I muttered.
